I did a read through of this thread and it seems that some are and some are not, and that right now the new hires are being sent to Florida.

Any clarification on this? Also, do I have a chance at getting stationed in Las Vegas? From reading on here it seems like a pretty small chance.
I feel your pain with the desire to be home everynight. 2200 hours is low for heavy guys but right on track if it's fighter time. If you are interested in coming here be prepared to move to any of the bases to fly anything we have. You never know what is going to come in the class drop but FL is usually a pretty consistent location. LAS went junior in my class and still left spots on the table. That's not always true but it does happen. All our trips are out and backs which means you are home every night. There are a few charters that do overnights but not many. I'm waiting for a call from a legacy or SW but honestly I don't dream of those jobs even if you live in base because you will still be gone half the month for the rest of your career. For me, I'm hoping management gets serious and we get a contract that shows they want career pilots. Go to G4pilots.com and look at the schedules and the BS presentation the company put out justifying our low pay. Basically we work harder at more challenging airports for less pay compared to our competitors. Talk to guys on the line and then decide if your still interested. 10% truth rule applies to internet forums so take that into consideration when you are reading through these. Good luck.

Edit: There are 4 LAS FO openings in this quarterly bid that was just released.
