SWA hires a lot of mil guys and his experience is good. Sure, no guarantees, but I'm suggesting he wait or try to make connections. I don't know as much about Spirit but I'd imagine he is competitive for them also. Depending on the specifics of his military experience I'd say his odds of getting a call (especially if he has an internal rec) to be very very good! A job fair will go a long way as well.
Good Luck to the original poster.
You see military is a two way street. If you're deemed to be a good addition to a compatriots company, many will go a mile to get you onboard.
If you've walked on a lot of backs to get ahead or are just considered a liability rather than an asset to a fellow pilots company, well you may find yourself on the outside looking in.
