Who cares where you are when you call in sick? Europe? The Caribbean? On the lake in a boat? Your body doesn't give a damn where you are when it gets sick - and generally you are more likely to become sick when traveling. Airplanes with other sick people, hotel that a sick person stayed on, ill chef that should've stayed home preparing your food...
Doesn't matter. Sick is sick. What you don't want to do is provide any proof whatsoever that you planned on being at the location you are while you are supposed to be at work. I.e., multiple drop requests for specific days, then you call in sick for those days.
Better yet?
Turn your company iPad OFF.
Leave it at home.
Problem solved.
If one is concerned about big brother's ability to "watch you", don't come to AA. Our ipads have an app that does just that. One reason I recall being stated was that eventually, one won't have to "pull" updates to pubs from X and instead it will "push" them to your ipad at the appropriate time relieving you of the responsibility to ensure your device's pubs are current.
Now, of course this being a corporate controlled Orwellian world we live in now (or at least country), we know there are other uses for these apps and in fact, many corporations that provide ipads and such to their employees have the ability to not only track them, but monitor what they are used for.
Most of us have two ipads, one for company use (and ONLY used for that if one is smart) and another similar PED for personal use.
