I've worked for another ALPA carrier before and I actually felt like I was getting my money's worth. But the people in Mesa's ALPA chapter/MEC/grievance committee? I feel like I'm paying a troop of clowns 2% of my paycheck to drive around in circles in a tiny car.

Every single time I have ever even attempted to seek assistance from this ALPA chapter on anything, I have been met with derision, disdain, and incompetence. Meanwhile, every time I have simply called our chief pilots/management directly, they've actually listened to me and bent over backwards to help me out.

Our union is an effing scam--I'd rather give my 2% to AI and JO directly--I'm not joking at all. I never thought I'd say this in my lifetime, but I would honestly rather deal with management directly than even attempt to involve this ALPA chapter in anything having anything to do with my job here.
