When I saw the writing on the wall and didn't even have an interview scheduled I pushed my retirement date back 6 months. Long story short, I had to defer 2 classes, lost about 40 seniority numbers, and started a month later than I could have. The nice thing was I was getting my full mil pay for 3 months which coincided perfectly with INDOC, sims, and OE. Hopefully my timing was such that those 40 numbers never matter.
