In addition to considering the airlines, I've been interested in the military for a long time and am looking into the Air Force Reserve. I am contemplating enlisting while I finish college (about two years left to go) and work on my PPL. Would enlisting provide an advantage with attaining a UPT slot? Is this an advisable path?

There's no point in enlisting unless you need the money or really want to be a FE/boom/load for a while...it will only delay your graduation while a stream of well-qualified college grads snap-up your Squadron's UPT slots. AFRC needs off-the-street applicants, the well is drying up and we're not sure why--kids that would never even get interviews 15 years ago are now getting slots.
