Same boat 1 year ago. Started INDOC 3 Nov, had 7 days prior to starting training. Completed SIM training just prior to New Year. SIMs throughout the Holidays except for a couple days (Thanksgiving and X-mas) when all SIMs shut down.

Get used to it. Spent many a T-day in a Denny's or Waffle House in the last 20 years. Management gets holidays off. Line pilots, not so much.
I hear ya, and after 26 yrs in the Navy the wife is used to it. I just "assumed" they wouldn't have instructors avail. Moons over my Hammy sounds ok by me.
