JK the director of training and his henchmen are still dirtballs who care little about you and the potential damage they may inflict on your career.
Your comments are far off base: I just finished LOE and several of the instructors are world class; all are committed to your success, as long as you show up ready to learn. Retain the numbers you learn in ground school, watch the videos, practice your flows, spend time with your partners going over normal and non- normal callouts, etc. No secrets there...
As for props vs jets: I went from a 180ktTAS twin prop (OV-10) to a Mach 2 jet (F-111) and did fine; your brain will speed up no problem, and you will still have time with autothrottles and autopilot engaged to tell your "prop stories".
