Trip rigs and per-diem are similar only in the fact that they are based on when you report for a trip and trip termination.
A 4:1 trip rig would mean 1 hour of pay for every four hours spent away from base.
Example; You show on day 1 of at 12:00 and end on day 4 at 12:00. Time away from base (TAFB) ends up being 72 hrs. The rig would be 18 hrs of pay, the scheduled time, or the actual block time. Whichever is higher.
Per diem in this case. 72 hrs at $1.65 hr = $118.80 in per diem for the 4 day trip.
MOST regionals don't have trip rigs. I belive AWAC may be getting theirs back. BoilerUp would know.
