When contract carriers want more money from their mainline carriers for the contract flying then the bean counters turn around and figure that mainline can keep the flying in house then everyone wins!! Less regional flying equals more mainline flying and isn't that a good thing? Everyone Wins.
It is ultimately the best thing for all of us. However that doesn't mean that the process won't be painful in the interim.
