I fully understand how the system works. If I list for the jumpseat, they give me a 1P pass, then sometimes when I go to get on the airplane, they hand me a seat card, I still say hi just in case the gate agent didn't remove me from the js or for whatever reason I show up on the WDR as a js'er. I don't always trust them to take care of everything when they are often by themselves and under tremendous pressure to get the flight out on time.
As to cnb's post, a jumps eater doesn't have to occupy the jumpseat if they are a jumpseater, we often have multiple jumps eaters with 1 listed on the WDR, and they all sit in back if there are seats available.
