I don't think you understand. Did you read what I said? It is not the prerogative of the captain where the jumpseater sits in the CASE I stated. The FOM is very clear on this. It is very easy "stay at gate performance" = 1P in the actual jumpseat. All other scenarios 1P sits wherever I don't care. The beauty of it is I don't have to care why! I just do it because it is a hard rule.
