A330 pilot thinks its because they are treated like "second class citizens". That somehow gives them the right to wipe out innocent people. There is no excuse and why the world tolerates these people is beyond me.
Clearly you're A Muslim and are offended by this thread? Let me ask you this question. Why is it that everytime someone from your religion decides to chop off someone's head, rape someone, or blow them up, the Muslim world remains silent?
Not offended by the thread, just seeing that some of the comments are bigoted.
I'm Muslim, we immigrated 23 years ago to this country when I was 8. We love and cherish the values and freedoms here of our country and are proud to be Americans. I was the only one in the family to get the aviation bug so I became a pilot. The rest got real jobs as doctors
What happened in Paris is terrible. There are no words. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this vicious act of indiscriminate terror.
To answer your question, I don't know. I don't know why you would think I would know, or could speak for, certain Musilm countries. I don't know what the Monarch in Jordan or the Sheikh ruler of the UAE would say or will say about these attacks. In the same way I don't know why you'd be expected to answer for an American mass shooter and gun issues. Whether it's mental sickness or a religious motivated attack (but I do think you'd also have to be a mentally sick nutjob to slaughter innocent people), I can't speak for other people, countries, and rulers. You'd have to ask them. Like you, I'm just another Jersey guy who can't obtain a CCP because of how liberal it is here.
As for ISIS, we did help create that mess. Iraq in pre-2003 was Sunni ruled. Saudi the strongest Sunni county, Iran the strongest Shia. We invaded Iraq and in the process of installing democracy we put the Shias in power. Due to numerous factors, including them asking us to leave and also not providing amnesty from prosecution, we left Iraq. A civil war was inevitable if you understand that part of the world. It was only a matter of time before a Sunni led force would have started a war with the Shia led rulers. Said force came in the form of ISIS and it ended up surprising even al-Qaeda in terms of how brutal they were. Now we the western countries are attacking ISIS while ISIS attacks western targets. This is basically a proxy war between Saudi Sunni and Iran Shia. In Syria we supported the rebels. Then Russia came out of nowhere and decided to support the Assad regime and bomb his enemies. It ends up being a proxy war with the U.S. and Russia in that regard. War is messy and we and Europe countries are entrenched in all things Middle East, including setting up Iraq and Syria to what they are today. Sure, it would be ideal if the whole Middle East could wake up one day and decide to grow up and join the 21st century, but this isn't an ideal world. There really isn't a good solution at this point. You can bomb the hell out of ISIS but you can't kill an idealogy that is ISIS. It's that idealogy that will end up recruiting that French national citizen who was one of the attackers. It's also an idealogy that will get a lone wolf to attack us Americans on our home soil or places in Europe and now Russia. IMO the only hope is a generational shift as time goes on. The kids' kids' kids who decide that enough is enough, they've gotten nowhere, and it's time to stop the insanity. Just as some other religions did a long, long time ago. I personally don't think we'll see a solution to anything in the Middle East in my lifetime.
