One of the PBS helpline "gurus" told me that bidding between about 45% to 65% is the most screwed group in SkyWest's PBS. Every year I run into pilots junior to me that got Christmas off and are surprised while I did not. PBS nails the middle guys until the coverage dates are taken care of and then it starts handing out candy. Nice to know my seniority counts for nothing.
I should say though, this year there was an effort to have fewer pairings that worked on Christmas and it showed. The only coverage date on my reason report was 12/26 this year. I got the 25th off. Pleasantly surprised.
