What makes you think that you'll actually be ready to accept the responsibility of being a captain when you're at the minimum qualifications? Just because you have enough SIC time doesn't make you a captain. I'm not singling you out. I'm just tired of the crap I hear in the crew room and on this forum about upgrade. Nice fear mongering. Truth is, no one is ready to be a captain until they've been one for a few months on their own, flying with brand new FO's just off IOE. The training department is pretty darn good at keeping the ones who have no business in the left seat, from being in the left seat.
As far as the best base to be a CA, EVERY BASE IS SENIOR FOR CA. Enjoy reserve for about a year. I really hope a new East coast or West coast base opens up...
