Unions are the only way to stand up against management. Management receive huge bonuses to constantly find ways to undercut all labor in order to fill their pockets. By not standing up for yourself even at the regional level you we as pilots are only hurting ourselves in the long run.
Eh, this kinda violates economic principles to me. It might be true that some managements might want to pay as little as possible, but if they did, they'd find themselves running out of pilots pretty quickly. I think this is already happening to some extent.
And who conditioned everyone to think that everyone in management at every company is always out to screw you? I'm not saying there aren't bad guys out there, but seriously, this isn't 1904 anymore.
Also, doesn't ALPA represent Mesa? What's going on there?
