I worked for Mesa for nearly 10 years. When I got hired, all of the other regionals were charging 12,000 dollars to "pay for training". Mesa and Eagle were the only two that weren't doing that and I felt fortunate to get on during that time. It wasn't an easy ride by any stretch of the imagination. At that time, I said there were better and worse places to be than Mesa. I cannot say that anymore. Now I say Mesa, the company, is a horrible place to be. Mesa has some really great people working there but they are all bailing out as fast as possible. Many are making lateral moves...that should tell you volumes.

I can't recommend Mesa for anyone...even in your situation.

Option 1 - You could go to Mesa - get your time - get the hell out to another regional. Beware that age 65 might slow hiring and you could be stuck in hell.

Option 2 - Stay where you are, get some more time and go with a more of a quality carrier.

I would vote for Option 2 if I were you but I understand if Option 1 works for you.

Here is something for you to consider....If age 65 is approved in the next year or so, that will slow hiring. It could also stagnate you at a regional for a little while. Make sure you're sitting in a good seat with a good company or it will feel like a million miles in a Yugo....
