So since I already "introduced" myself above, what is the general thinking about the viability of Republic long term? Will they survive? It looks like a big jump in pay, but what is the upgrade time? Where is the most junior base? Has there been any movement for Republic guys to move to the majors?
Although there is a lot of speculation (on this board) regarding RAH's future, it is looking more and more like the worst days are behind us. We have hired upward of 60 new FO's in the last month and attrition has slowed dramatically since the passage of our new CBA. The new pay rates and work rules are significantly better than our competition, and the company has to play nice in order to keep attracting new hires. They have implemented all of the new pay rates and protections, as well as the new rigs, min day, per diem, international per diem, and premium pay a month before they were supposed to be put in place. Pittsburgh has traditionally been the junior base, but EWR and LGA have been growing quickly so a new hire has a good shot at those as well. Upgrade is dropping under 3 years on the 145, 4 years on the 170. We are losing people to every major, all the cargo operators and LCC's. Hope this helps. TT
