with all due respect think your thought process is a bit short-sighted. Bottom line is you get paid 73 hours to sit reserve… thats what you bid… company has the right to use you during that period you are paid 73 hours. If you don't want to be able to get assigned FSB then you need to be patient and wait for your seniority to increase at the current fleet/domicile so your above the G-Line or bid off the current plane and move to another fleet/domicile that you can be a line holder. The only pilots who have any right to complain about being forced to a RSV line is a new hire. FSB isn't going away and the company is not going to pay you extra for sitting FSB… way back in 2000 we used to get 4 hours credit time… but you never saw the pay unless you broke guarantee. IMO the only RSV improvements will be limiting the number of SCs assigned and possibly getting some add pay for working into RDOs… other than that think its a pipe dream to think our union will try to improve RSV rules when 80%+ of the pilots are line holders… I'd prefer to see those areas being improved… and thats from a WB reserve guy… who knows eventually i'll be a line holder.
