Tankers refuel tankers for lots of reasons and adds to our capabilities tremendously.

Not to steal the intent of this thread, but one night during the big OIF push in Mar '03, I was refueling from another KC-10. Our scheduled receivers, a pair of F15Es, joined on us while we were still refueling. The weather wasn't very good. They kept calling out for us to lower our boom and to start AR. They didn't realize we were in contact with another tanker. This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening. Sometimes when we refuel we lose sight of the tanker (weather) and must disconnect.
