haha! I think we can all relate at some point. The thing that gets me is when a guy gets offended when I don't want to get a beer. We just spent up to 8hrs in a closet sized room with each other. Hey if it is you and not me I don't get offended. I always offer to buy a couple of beers, if the F/O is interested (just "paying it forward" after a long time in the right seat).
I get it if you want to zone out. I just can't contemplate spending all my time in a hotel room after spending all day in a small cockpit. In fact I only bring a laptop on the road these days because of some obligations I have to a boy scout troop. Prior to that I never brought my laptop either--too much great stuff to see in most layover cities.
