Think of the -$250/month as an insurance policy. If you bust an altitude and get violated, you don't have to explain it in your Delta interview (if you are so lucky to ever get one), as you already have a guaranteed job with AA. If you lose or don't want to keep a log book, you don't have to worry...because you already have a job with AA. If you fail a check ride once, or every year during recurrent, you won't have to explain it in your United interview (if you are lucky enough to ever get one), as you already have a guaranteed job with AA. So how many screw-ups like any of the above fore-mentioned would get a pilot terminated anyways? Does one have to screw up pretty bad on more than one occasion, or is it fairly common industry wide? Just curious.
