They don't sell their own tickets and if their mainline partner stops paying them, Republic management will relinquish them anyway. It is poor business practice to sit on something that is only costing you money when you can eliminate that cost by giving them away.

They won't go to United unless United pays them extra money that they already are, but that would involve Republic flying more for United. United won't pay them extra just to have spares in their system because Delta cancelled their CPA.

How are you not getting this? Republic canceled orders for 25 new ejets. Those 25 were part of the original 55 ordered to meet the requirements of the new United CPA. There are roughly 20 ejets flying for delta. Those 20 jets will be used to help cover the flying on a CPA that is ALREADY IN PlACE! United won't have to pay more money, they are already paying it. So United won't have to pay more money, republic won't have to bid on more flying and they get to get out of the 145 market and reduce down to a snake operating certificate which is the company's stated goal.
