Considering that, I'd say the hotels are acceptable. I'd tell you to quit and go work elsewhere, but our seniority system makes that a difficult decision. Is seniority best for the "collective group"? What about the fact that third year FOs make more than second year FOs? Doesn't seem that great for the group either. Even the TA vote, which, considering the present value of a raise now, year over year, compared to what we might expect in, say, five years, was an irrational choice from a monetary standpoint. The whole group, union, brotherhood, idea among airline pilots is a lie. I try to post reasonable info about Mesa on this thread to counter the young, new (seems like) pilots who come here to puke on their keyboards and press submit.
Ramada Sarasota was a motel.... Some of the Mesa hotels are totally acceptable, without a doubt. Most of the Holiday Inns, DFW Marriott, IND, DAY, etc are fine. But when I see where my buddies at the other regionals stay, its a slap in the face to us as a pilot group when we stay at a Microtel for 24 hours with no restaurants within a mile. Sure there are a bunch of good restaurants around the CLT hotel, but there are also a bunch of better hotels right around there too. I think there is too many pilots who just have given up on hope that the hotels will get better, and thats really unfortunate. PSA management sent an email to their pilot group saying that they would no longer be staying in Choice Hotel brands, because the quality is not where they should be. At Mesa, every month we seem to be staying at more. Why are they not good enough for other regionals, but at Mesa its acceptable. It shouldn't be like that guys!
