I recently overheard a VERY senior check airman venting in the PHX crew room about the new hires coming through the training pipeline. He alluded to the fact that it is mostly older guys who have logged the majority of their experience milling around in 152 on CAVUK days with niece weather.
It seems we are getting less and less previous 121/135 and CFI types.
I wonder if it was the same check airman that was whining about snot nosed kids fresh out of the right seat of a 172. There will always be a pilot complaining in every crew room around the world.
