Yep. Didn't get the call by the time I retired, picked up with regional and got the call to interview with JB within three months of retiring, now in Phase II. Didn't have my jet/121 boxes checked till I got on with the regional, had all else.
How much do internal recs count? I have a cousin that's a junior captain at AA and several Army buddies that are senior-ish FO's (747/777) at UAL. All have offered letters and have offered to "walk" my resume into HR. Is that shooting for the stars, or does it actually carry some weight?
