I don't know what they're refer to as these days but back in the day, such assignments were referred to as OSA (Operational Support Airlift)-C-21, C-12, C-9, etc., some are now in the bone yard. I always thought that they were the gem assignments. Heavy boys & girls can do a tour in the OSA world.
