30 years ago the entry level position at Delta, (and every other Major) was 727 FE, on a B Scale. I know of only one guy in my Guard unit who wouldn't lower himself to apply to the Majors because he didn't want to be a Flight Engineer.

All the other Guard guys I knew then, who did lower themselves to fly FE, are all flying wide body Captain at one of the Majors now.

Think big picture here guys. You won't be stuck on the E190 forever, not with only 20 of them and with all the retirements the next 10 years.
