I don't know where you are making this up from but I've been in training since Sept. and we have not had any new hires fail the type ride. ZERO. Four from my class had type rides in the past week and ZERO had FAA in sim or review boards. There also has not been any talk like this about the 17 current f/o's that needed types.
They aren't talking about new hires they are talking about FOs already on property who were hired before a full type was required. They barely got any training prior to their orals/types.
