Quick non-rev question. I understand that they don't move up medallion members from the back into first class for Trans-Pac international flights. But what if the back is well oversold while the front is reasonably empty? Would they move anyone up in that case (thereby screwing up a non-revs chance to get on) or would they buy off coach PAX and fly the front empty?
When it's way oversold it's typical that the historic numbers come into play. The HNL to mainland flights they do move up from the aft to the front, rest of the transpacific not so much.
