I can tell you that there're lot more JM lately for capt since we're so short and a spike during the holiday isn't rare neither. There's absolutely no excuse for what happened to him, I would call the chief immediately and see what happens. Perhaps he did, we don't know.
I been JM once for the 8 years I been here, I'm sure everybody's experience is different. Best of luck to him and his future at AA.
