I was a June 2014 hire, and they came after me when I resigned 4 months later. Look at the wording in the contract carefully. I did manage to get credit from my date of hire, although initially they tried to pro-rate it only from the date of training. They sent me a couple e-mails, and then started the legal process before I resolved it with them.
