What we heard in MIA this month:

The iPad is an approved device (for years).
The Jepps charts are approved on the iPad.
Atlas got FAA approval to use the iPad in the aircraft a few weeks ago.

Jan the 1st quarter Distant Learning (CPAT) comes out, with an iPad/Jepps module...when each pilot completes the online training, they are certified to use the iPad on the aircraft without restrictions.

Also, several Check Airman are already approved to use the devices in all phases of flight.
