Vacation passes are a limited quantity. They compete on seniority across all vacation pass holders. If the express person is senior then they would go first.

I really wouldn't get so spun up about this issue. You will most likely be replaced in 4-5 years when UA rebids the express contract and the next lowest bidder steps up to the plate. You get replaced the new company gets your planes and you get to start over again. That does throw a wrench into you getting senior to compete for a vacation pass though......

If you don't like the UA boarding priority system take it up with your company. Don't screw the people that are only using the system. That is really childish and speaks of a very insecure person with a RJ for life career path.
Express employees don't get vacation passes. It's completely ridiculous that a United gate agent can bump a pilot off their own metal, but yes that IS the way it works.
