Indoc
INDOC is painless compared to regionals. Lots of guests speakers, free lunch, which every pilot loves! Attitude is everything, early, quiet and attentive finishes the course. Course-work given via thumb drives are not graded in the traditional sense. They only issue a completion code once finished. Run thru them right away, a few folks had hiccups waiting till the end. HR website and requirements tripped up many pilots. Try to finish as much as possible before coming. Call and ask for help if you need it.
Sim training is very straight forward. Training documents all have line by line detail of exactly what to expect. There should be no surprises. If you need help ask!!!! They try and pair military pilots with current DAL pilots or with regional newhires. This definitely helps. Most importantly ASK, they will bend over backwards to help you. The instructors are jazzed up seeing new-hires every where. I was told it's a welcome change from post Ch11 days when the Headquarters felt like a ghost town.
Fingers crossed the new TA is agreed upon soon. Then you won't have to worry about where to stay during the sims. If you have an RV or camper, check out the RV campground in McDonough. I stayed there and it was super quiet. Finish sim, start a campfire and crack open a few beers. There's no better way to study/relax. $300 for a month, (water, waste and electrical).
Also the Delta fitness headquarters site is well worth it. They have short term memberships. Parking can be a an issue, plan extra time finding a spot if you drive in.
