I suppose any effort to drawstring in new hires helps keep classes full. Skywest has set up recruitment tables at Horizon crew hotels - have they done this for other carriers?
A couple of guys I know are in the cadet program. You don't pay for anything. Skywest covers two nights in a hotel room for the interviews. Buys you lunch, show you around the airplanes in the maintenance hangar, and have a few pilots meet with you and talk to you about what it's like at Skywest. Then once you come back the second time you have an actual interview with sim, technical, and hr. Also the cadets in my class got single occupancy rooms through training.
