i think both sides are guilty of overstating their positions.... having said that today the Chinese and American markets are solidly moving red one day before the vote on fears of a global recession and the middle east is picking sides between Iran and Saudi Arabia so the price of oil is likely to climb.... with all of this continuing instability it would be foolish not to accept a pay raise for little/nothing in return... in the 3 1/2 years of negotiating we face things could go from bad to worse and instead of earning a great contract we might find ourselves fighting for what we already have...
