Not certain if you can read without subscription. I do find it amusing that a month ago this same website was littered with articles saying to buy.
Summary
Allegiant, on the long tail down (with regards to share value), remains a shaky proposition for investment. While the FAA has yet to take serious action against the company, it appears as though the grace period may be fast fading. Federal officials understand that a spate of incidents do not always indicate a long term safety risk (short term in-flight emergencies exist on a somewhat random curve); still, the past year will be nearly certain to have captured bureaucratic attention.
Add in the rather public coverage that those events have captured, and you will understand that Allegiant has been playing out a short rope for a continuation of such operational issues. The FAA will eventually intervene, and given the indications of potentially subpar maintenance practices, an imminent accident may very well drive the burgeoning low cost carrier into the bone yard of failed airlines. At $160 a share, there is room for a further downward decline.
