Reserve life seems to be different depending on which base you are in. It seems that the small bases use their reserves very little where the big bases use their reserves a lot. Also it seems the big bases use their reserves for rescue flights which include multiple days gone since the reserves stay with the broken airplane til it's fixed.
If you are at a base in Florida, you are reserve for ALL of Florida and will be limo'd all over rescuing aircraft, ferrying aircraft and flying other bases open time. I've found I get called a lot less on R5 or 6 vs R10 or 11. Seems like as the issues pile up during the day the reserves get called in to help clean up the mess.
