That's a shame. A jet with that kind of range/capacity could open up all kinds of viable new nonstop city pairs such as CHS or JAX to SFO, or RNO to EWR. Or, it gives better one stop options to our prime international destinations (say JAX to SYD via SFO). Kind of like how the 787 is opening up new city pairs. Minimizing connections at hubs is a great way to improve on time rates and overall satisfaction.
I certainly don't claim any inside information, but Bombardier has changed its tune on pricing the CSeries within the last 6-9 months:

I don't think Embraer or AB/Boeing need the sale that bad. Nice article in Aviation Week this week on the C Series, if Bombardier is to be believed the CSeries is easily exceeding its performance targets.
