UAL doesn't believe bombardier could deliver what they need on time and very worried about support. Most upper management want to stay with a319 and 737-700, and not get another fleet.
Or perhaps that is what management is telling Bombardier... so as to negotiate a better price!

Bombardier has certainly been hinting in the press recently that they have been talking with us, and I do recall hearing about a static display not too long ago at one of our bases. The current 190/195 are not performing so well (hence why Air Canada and JetBlue are ditching them and we have not shown interest in picking them up), I wonder if the E-2 will be improved enough to justify the investment. But either way it is hard to argue that we really need yet another fleet type, especially when fuel prices are so low.
