Respectfully, I have one question. If we can't get the company to honor our current contract, what good does it do to get a better contract that - one would logically assume - also won't be honored? We need to fix that first.
The company doesn't honor our current contract because we are push overs and they know it. They have been pushing us around for years and we have been buying whatever they've been selling. Until we stand our ground as a collective whole will they consider us an entity that needs to be handled with a different approach. We don't stand our ground on anything. What better time than now. SWAPA and DALPA are having a difficult time of it you are correct but it's never the easy road that yields the greatest returns. Let's see what they get for their "difficulties" before we weigh in. As an aside it still boggles my mind that we have to put into language by name another carriers potential negotiating outcome as though we are better suited to let other pilot groups do the tough negotiating. Sends quite the wrong message to management in my mind. But hey, what do I know. I voted NO to give away our pensions.
