Honest question.
SkyWest started this year deicing with the flaps up and then extending them just prior to taking the runway for takeoff. Apparently there is a recommended reduction in Hold Over Time if the flaps are in the takeoff position as the fluid runs off.
My question is what other operators are doing the same thing or is it still flaps at takeoff position during deice spraying?
TSA does flaps up for deice but since we put flaps down during the taxi flow, our FSDO makes us use the 90% chart.
