Regardless of how payrates work out in Delta's new contract, still gotta look at two things: 1. Minimum pay per day at each airline. 2. Percentage of pilots at each airline who are making the highest pay.

Delta pays minimum pay per day based on calendar day so that if a trip leaves at 12pm Mon and returns 12pm Wed - 3 days pay. Fedex would pay that 48 hours, 2 days. Lots more to understand than just that.
