Actually you're wrong in this. Like CB said, "adhering" is what our winter ops says.
Not sure who you work for but I refer to the manuals, FOM and SOP that my company provides. Most companies SOPs and manuals are more restrictive than the FARs.
This isn't about who's right or wrong, its about doing it correctly.
