I'm in the top 1/3 & am moving very little. Most of these folks live in base, are on the Airbus, not getting TDY'd & generally have good QOL. Especially if you're north of 50 do you really want to start over at the bottom & live in fear of an oil spike, Mideast flareup, or merger? & really, how many "old" folks are the legacies hiring anyway.
They hire a lot of 'old' folks, among other reasons, to avoid age discrimination lawsuits. SWA hires a lot of grey beards because junior guys are leaving for the legacies for quicker upgrades.
Guys in the top 10% moved up 2 numbers just last week for AA recalls alone, another 4 or 5 possibly by May.
