I think calling the regional guys "rookies" is pretty insulting. My class was 90% regional guys that had been at 2 or more, furloughed by one or another, stuck in the right seat for the lost decade. These are some of the saltiest 35 year olds around. They were at Republic for the never ending negotiations. These guys have been there and done that. Just because they are new to G4 doesn't mean they don't know what's going on.

I fit into this category. Many of the more senior guys I've flown with that have the attitude regional guys are backpack wearing, frosted tip sporting pushovers were either never at the regionals or were there back in the hay days when guys upgraded in 6 months and were off to the majors in 2 or 3 years. There is a backlog of guys at the regionals that have been stuck there for quite some time. Expressjet has 9 year FO's right now. If 9 years in the right seat of an RJ won't make you ****ed off at the industry and management, I don't know what will.
