I think the only places that are "almost desperate" for pilots are the regionals. If I had a dollar for everyone that had an MD-11/75/76 type rating that I heard was interviewed and not hired, well, I wouldn't be rich, but I'd have several dollars. That, and there were one or two guys in my indoc class that came from the MD-11 at a previous company, but going to two engine at FDX.
