What a terrible situation to put someone in during a family emergency; Do I lie and call in sick so i get paid or tell the truth and lose pay. Neither outcome is going to help your stress level especially during an emergency.
Honestly, I would call in sick to initially get the ball rolling in removing yourself from any obligation, then follow up with the CP office to have them recode the absence. Skeds doesn't need to know why you aren't available, just that you aren't available.
