Honestly, I would call in sick to initially get the ball rolling in removing yourself from any obligation, then follow up with the CP office to have them recode the absence. Skeds doesn't need to know why you aren't available, just that you aren't available.
I wonder if that would have changed the outcome. I never actually called Scheduling I only spoke with the Chief Pilot he was not an FOM.
